Our Mission

Our Vision

Our vision is to make healthcare better. We seek better healthcare and better health for our member and our community in Southern Nevada.

Our History

First established as the Health Services Purchasing Coalition (HSPC) in 1998, the group was originally formed to mitigate market changes in the delivery and cost of hospital care in Southern Nevada. Las Vegas had experienced a consolidation of hospital systems, which in turn reduced competition in the market. In addition, most health plans were reporting double digit rate increases annually in relation to inpatient and outpatient hospital care. Along with the rising cost of care and reduced competition, members were experiencing quality issues.

In 2000, the HSPC became incorporated in the state of Nevada and was designated a nonprofit corporation in 2001. In 2005, the coalition board approved a name change to Health Services Coalition in order to better reflect strategic goals of improving health care quality in addition to volume purchasing and hospital contracting initiatives.
